An example exam set with guideline solutions (summer 2011)

Dear MDS students,

I found this other old exam set from Summer 2011 (that some of you may have found yourself) including guideline solutions.

It contains the sample exercise we discussed today at the question hour (except it also has a question 1.5 on pi-calculus that you can ignore since it was not part of your curriculum).

It also contains questions on transactions and security with guideline solutions.

Question hour and exam hours

Dear MDS students,

The question hour will be Jan 3, 2013 in Aud.4, 14-15.

Please send me questions by Jan 2 at lunch.

I asked the exam office and the exam is 9-13.

I will provide a guideline solution for the test exam
presented at the last lecture between x-mas and New Year, but
I can unfortunately not promise precisely when I will
have time to type it in.

Have a nice x-mas and new year!

Material on IBM Worklight and test exam

Dear MDS students,

remember that we today at 12:00-13:00 have a guest lecture by Christina Moller Olesen, IBM, Denmark. She will tell us about developing Mobile Apps with Worklight Developer Edition, following up on Troels’ lecture last week. If you want to try it out you can look here:
Getting Started

At 13:00 - 16:00 you may finish your mandatory hand in or do the Test Exam. Note that it is a 4 hour exam set, so you are only supposed to be able to make 75%. You may focus on exercise 2+3 since exercise 1 covers material you have already seen in other test exams. I will go through the exam next week (the instructors have not been given a guideline solution yet, so do not expect that they necessarily have the right answer today - in fact, to serve as a test exam you should try to do it without help today.

Deadline for handing in mandatory assignment 6 and resubmissions

Dear MDS students,

The deadline for handing in mandatory assignment 6 and resubmissions of old assignments is 05-12-2012.
Please note that this deadline is strict (it is already an extension wrt the official deadline given by the study administration) since I have to report to the study administration who are allowed to attend the exam.

So please check if you have enough assignments approved and make sure to submit in time.

Course Evaluation

Dear SMDS and BMDS students,

The course evaluation is coming up!

From 5 November we will be looking into how you experience the quality of our courses – you will be invited by the study administration by email.

So please participate in the evaluation and tell us what works! And also what doesn’t work, so that we can do something about it.

Always remember that your are evaluating humans - so please be polite and constructive when giving critique.

best,

Thomas and Rao
